Choosing channels

Ive finally bought a Smart TV with Roku, but selecting channels is nausiating! Its user unfriendly. Having to scroll down one by one through ENDLESS channels. Theres GOT to be an easier way - like by selecting all and then Deselecting as time goes on. But the app keeps making me LOG IN every few minutes. And dont lose your spot because it will bring you right back to the very beginning again and youll have to scroll forever to get back to your spot. WHY???!!!!
